Our 22km walk for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

On 12^th July 2024, our team here at Aimia Foods walked 22km from the doors of our offices in St. Helens to the doors of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

The team set off at around 9am and around 6 hours later, made it to the doors of Alder Hey, with our Operations Director, Simon, walking the full 22km dressed as The Alder Hey Children’s Charity Mascot, Ollie the elephant!

The walk wasn’t easy, but we did it and it was worth every blister and aching muscle. Thanks to everyone for taking part and for those who donated, this event raised over £6,000 for the charity. Taking our total moneys raised to over £26,000!

Thanks to our team’s amazing efforts with various charity events, these funds have gone towards two projects at Alder Hey. The first for the refurbishment of the Parent and Family Rooms on the Critical Care Unit, and the second to provide a Sensory Voyager, as well as a permanent sensory room on the Neurology ward.
