Incredibly popular in Taiwan, the bubble tea (or boba tea) craze has taken the world by storm with bubble tea stores popping up throughout Asia, America, Europe and the UK.

There are two main types of bubble tea to choose from, milk tea or fruit tea. Milk bubble teas are made using tapioca pearls and flavoured syrups whereas fruit teas are made with fruity popping boba and fruit syrups. Both milk and fruit bubble tea are made with tea and served cold, usually iced.

With the addition of tapioca pearls and popping boba, customers can enjoy a unique drink combined with a tasty snack!

Why not try this passionfruit bubble tea:

Ingredients:
Jasmine tea, passionfruit syrup, strawberry popping boba, water, ice

  1. Place your tea bag and 100ml of hot water to a glass and leave for 1 minute
  2. Gently remove your tea bag
  3. Pour your brewed tea into a large glass
  4. Add 25ml of passionfruit syrup into the tea and stir
  5. Add your boba to the glass
  6. Add 100ml of cold water
  7. Add ice
  8. Pop in your straw, stir and enjoy!
